Provides a choice of customisable troop trees for the player kingdom. Choose the tree structure (trade-off between number of branches and tier limit) and gender, then set troop names, stats and equipment.
If you properly link a unit to an existing unit by putting them in the upgrade path, you will see your new units in lord parties every now and then, but not many of them. This is because they are not being given those troops through the default lord reinforcement party template, but rather just training a few of them from existing low tier units. You can edit the party templates and change this By putting your own units in the party templates, lords of that faction will gain those units in the same manner as they gain their normal faction units. Be sure to keep the amount they get of those units balanced, as well as the units themselves being balanced (it would hardly be fair for Ravenstern to get a level 20 infantry unit with 200 strength and agility, plus Noldor weapons and armor). The troop editor was not intended to be used to create over powered units, but rather to expand the troop trees and lend the factions more unit variety.
Floris lets you use native troop trees which is rather nice. When it comes to mods that change the troop trees my experience is that they tend to disturb both faction power balance and bit of the lore. I had a brief look at Silverstag and it looks too interesting to pass though. It's amazing. I think the changes they have made between now and the last version I played are immense. In an older version troops couldn't 'level', but they have changed it that while they remain the same troop they do gain experience and improve.
This new presentation replaced the character creation kit created by Rubik we used before Floris 2.5. This was done to combine a number of starting menus into a single presentation as well as now give you the ability to see what your statistical benefits should be for a given combination prior to entering the game. Several mod options that are permanently set for a given save game, such as type of troop trees or quest difficulty are chosen here as well.
During the Napoleonic Wars, skirmishers played a key role in battles; they attempted to disrupt the main enemy force by firing into their close-packed ranks and to prevent enemy skirmishers from doing the same to friendly troops. Because skirmishers generally fought in open order, they could take cover behind trees, houses, towers and similar items, thereby presenting unrewarding targets for small arms and artillery fire. Such tactics often made them vulnerable to cavalry. Some skirmishers had a minor sapper role by placing cheval de frise to deter cavalry.
Unofficial retexture for Viking Conquest. Probably not story-mode compatible as player-created bandit parties could easily interfere with story elements. Hopefully it will make playing as a bandit a little more interesting, and maybe more viable in the long term. New painted/tattooed bodies for the Pictish Alban faction, 12 male and 1 female.Ī small mod that will attempt to give a few new options and gameplay for bandit players. I am making this statement as an act of willful defiance of military authority, because I believe that the War is being deliberately prolonged by those who have the power to end it. I am a soldier, convinced that I am acting on behalf of soldiers. I believe that this War, on which I entered as a war of defence and liberation, has now become a war of aggression and conquest...I have seen and endured the sufferings of the troops, and I can no longer be a party to prolong these sufferings for ends which I believe to be evil and unjust. I am not protesting against the conduct of the war, but against the political errors and insincerities for which the fighting men are being sacrificed... 2b1af7f3a8
